Quirky Factor Key: 😎 (Basic) —> 😎😎😎😎😎 (Quirk-tastic)

1. Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Release Date:

May 1, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎😎😎😎

As a self-proclaimed superhero freak, I am a bit biased when it comes to Earth’s mightiest heroes. But let’s be honest: if dressing in one of my superhero shirts from my extensive collection and camping out in line on the theatre floor at midnight isn’t quirky, I don’t know what is. An absolute quirk-fest, Ultron has the same charm and humor as the first Avengers with the added bonus of an adorable android and Tony Stark jokes with an evil twist.

2. Jurassic World

Release Date:

June 12, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎😎

Quirky or not, no one should pass up the opportunity to ogle at Chris’s Pratt for two and a half hours. Aside from that, only quirky girls will appreciate the absolute ridiculousness of Bryce Dallas Howard’s skirt and high heels getup throughout the movie. Sure, let me hop on the back of Chris Pratt’s motorcycle in my white skirt (which never gets dirty, by the way) and have the T-Rex chase me in my six inch heels…yeah, okay!

3. Minions

Release Date:

July 10, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎😎😎😎

They’re minions! What’s quirkier than that? They don’t even speak English – how could they have their own movie? But they do! And the trailer will crack you up! I can’t wait for this family favorite. In preparation, I’ll keep trying to get past level 105 on Minion Rush.

4. Pitch Perfect 2

Release Date:

May 15, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎😎

Although the sequel rarely lives up to the original, Pitch Perfect 2 may be the exception – perhaps due to its quirkiness. In the first movie, we were forced to sit through the Bellas singing the same ’80s song until the final competition (a complaint that only girls like us would come up with). Whereas the sequel is bursting with a capella renditions of contemporary songs that you will be belting out in your car the next day!

5. Spy

Release Date:

May 22, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎

Here is my problem with Melissa McCarthy – more so, the craze surrounding her: she’s not a breakthrough star! Come on, quirky girls! She was Sookie! Gilmore Girls! Get with it people! Anyway, Spy is just another attempt at The Artist Formerly Known as Sookie trying to drag the good Gilmore name through the obnoxious movie mud. Not a must see.

6. Ted 2

Release Date:

June 26, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎

True Story: I saw the first Ted with my parents. My neighbor saw it with his priest. We all underestimated just how dirty that bear could be. Now my father has a talking stuffed animal Ted. Seriously. The one thing that Ted makes me question is why, why Mark Walburgh would you make a movie like this? You’re better than this, Marky Mark. The Funky Bunch would be ashamed. As much as I try to hate that bear, I can’t help but laugh at every commercial I see for Ted 2. Needless to say, it will not be a family movie night this time. I’ve learned my lesson.

7. Magic Mike XXL

Release Date:

July 1, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎😎😎😎

You don’t have to be quirky to appreciate the ABS-olute eye-candy love fest that will be Magic Mike XXL. Although the first movie had – let’s call it like it is – no plot, I have high hopes for this next one. Matt Bomer, I know you play for the other team, but I’m still holding out hope, baby.

8. Marvel’s AntMan

Release Date:

July 17, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎😎😎

I love superheroes, but I don’t know how much I’ll love Paul Rudd as a superhero. Especially one that hangs out with ants. I’m sure the special effects will be awesome and hopefully there will be some Marvel humor, but nothing close to The Avengers.

9. Pixels

Release Date:

July 24, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎😎

Based on the trailers, Pixels seems like a night-in rental flick to me. As with any Adam Sandler movie, I’m sure it will have its funny moments along with its ridiculously stupid ones. But if I’m being honest, the only reason it made the list is because Olaf (Josh Gad) is in it.

10. Marvel’s Fantastic Four

Release Date:

August 7, 2015

Quirky Factor:

😎😎😎😎

Miles Teller (Footloose, That Awkward Moment, Whiplash) is the epitome of quirky. Just follow him on Twitter. Reuniting with his costar, Michael B. Jordan (That Awkward Moment) is sure to be a hilarious quirk-fest. And hey! More superheroes! Woohoo!
