Caregivers Lungs

It may shock you to learn, but Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among men and women, resulting in about 1 out of 4 cancer deaths. Although, that shouldn’t frighten you, but instead help to continue the fight. Because fighting this serious disease is often a team effort, with a family member or friend taking on the caregiver role to offer emotional support and serve as the person who helps push you through. They are the true champs!

Since a caregiver has a very strong role in a patient’s care, they are sometimes referred to as secondary patients. It’s true, and some studies report that a cancer diagnosis can have a great impact on caregivers given the critical role they play in a patient’s experience. There are many unsung heroes out there who are attempting to take care of themselves and another. It’s a tough job, and there are ways to help lighten the load
