At the end of March, while most of the world was sleeping, or enjoying the hustle and bustle of NYC, some of the top influencers in design were meeting for the annual Architectural Digest Design Show. This show brings together the who’s who of the design world to collaborate, inspire, and create some of the greatest design masterpieces this world has ever known.
Campion Platt, one of the nation’s leading design experts had a lot to say when it came to everything that the show had to offer, and trust me, it was plenty. Platt was also in good company, because according to Architectural Digest, “The world’s leading brands along with today’s top talent came together in a carefully curated presentation of design, offering inspired vignettes by respected brands, design seminars, culinary demos, and special appearances.”
Beyond just the participants, this show had some of the best products money could buy, “From furniture, accessories, lighting, and art to kitchen, bath, and building projects, the show offers thousands of products to source and shop—both from independent makers and established manufacturers.” Not to mention, some pretty incredible products from Jenn-Air, which come highly recommended from Platt.
However, along with luxury design comes the big bucks. This show may have awakened an interest in finding some of the most affordable and luxurious apartment designs the internet has to offer. There are tons of ways to get cool and trendy design ideas without breaking the bank, or your back.

Since it's #transformationtuesday I thought I'd try a new series where I show before & afters from some of my favorite client projects! Here's a dining area in a small NYC apartment on the UWS. Before- the colors were drab and the armoire much too large. After- I lightened everything up with a super pale gray on the walls, brought in a smaller bar cabinet, a mirror to reflect light and open up the space plus new dining chairs with presence to pair with the client's existing table? Still one of my faves! What do you think? Double tap if you'd like to see more of these before & afters on my feed! #nicolegibbonsstyle #beforeandafter
I love a good play on words, so I was hooked at the name. Nicole Gibbons is a design dynamo, and once you sample her site, you won’t want to design anything else without consultint So Haute first. I live by many of her design rules, and there is a reason why: she has impeccable style and is great at what she does. If you’re looking to give your place a much needed update with a little bit of class, then definitely check out this site.
